One year ago this time we were busy gearing up for our first meals which we were going to serve in 30 government schools and to 28000 children.
No doubt we were Excited but nervousness had struck us after all it is a big affair to serve midday meal in the city of Pune where we faced immense challenges while we were getting established here. From purchasing work and production place, utensils, boilers, vehicles accessories, equipment, fixing up vegetable vendors to visiting govt officials and corporate offices for CSR funds the journey has been a roller coaster ride.
Finally, the day had arrived 15th June 2018 we served our first-morning batch with 15000 children their academic year’s first midday meal.
A day full of hustle and bustle where we coordinated with our schools and their break times, with our tempo drivers who supply meals in these schools and our PR team who took media coverages in all the schools.
As the day was getting over we were getting relieved but that is where we got to know that this is how our day is going to look like for the rest of an academic year.
May it be thundering rains, blossoms of winter or the bewildering heat of summer our meals are always on time. Because we know that more than an empty tiffin an empty or partially filled tummy is waiting for us. No matter how good or bad their day is we strive to make their lunch break their best part of the day.
They say service to humanity is service to god and we are following this and are also serving the children of New India who are going to be someone contributing highly in our nation’s development.
We are not sure whether our children even know about our organization’s name but we are definitely sure about one thing that these children are grateful to us for the rest of their lives because we know how it feels to sleep with an empty stomach.
On our first anniversary, we humbly inform that from this year onwards we would be serving meals to more 25000 children from our second branch which is opened at katraj kondhwa road.
Challenges will keep coming and we together with your support shall overcome all of these obstacles and see to it that we propagate the vision and mission of Annamrita which is to feed India’s future.
