A man becomes human when he serves others, makes them happy and comfortable. Service means to be kind to others, spread love, happiness and well being of others. A man becomes human when he serves others, make them happy and comfortable
“To serve humanity is to serve God”
General social service is the duty of each and every individual because the world needs more helpful people, the world needs more service-oriented people. It is impossible to teach service, it should come from within. Although India was one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, poverty, malnourishment, unemployment such factors have been major issues that have caused disadvantages for children.
Annamrita Foundation is based in 21 cities and in Pune has taken an initiative to provide mid-day meal and education for the underprivileged children. Annamrita is a not-for-profit NGO dedicated to the betterment of underprivileged children in India. Annamrita Pune distributes 300,000 meals a day through which 100 and more schools benefit with 40,000 and more children fulfilling their rights and dreams. Annamrita has taken on so many student’s responsibilities. We are dedicating our services to these poor children, for the betterment of their bright future. Annamrita provides them with a healthy meal along with good and sustainable education. Services to other people can be in any way without expectations, but with empathy, compassion and kindness.
Annamrita is doing the same service to humanity by feeding at least 50,000 children at Pune, with the purpose of bringing and keeping these children to school toward India’s hunger-free future. We aim to remove the children from the vicious circle of malnutrition and illiteracy. Food is the very basic need of each and every human being. The food which is being distributed is a wholesale healthy meal that is masterly cooked under the guidance of chefs. Food is an important part of every child for the growth and development of their future.
Annamrita believes that being born poor is not a crime, but we can help them by giving them a hand of humanity and every child’s fundamental right.
“ The best way is to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others ,,
One year ago this time we were busy gearing up for our first meals which we were going to serve in 30 government schools and to 28000 children.
No doubt we were Excited but nervousness had struck us after all it is a big affair to serve midday meal in the city of Pune where we faced immense challenges while we were getting established here. From purchasing work and production place, utensils, boilers, vehicles accessories, equipment, fixing up vegetable vendors to visiting govt officials and corporate offices for CSR funds the journey has been a roller coaster ride.
Finally, the day had arrived 15th June 2018 we served our first-morning batch with 15000 children their academic year’s first midday meal.
A day full of hustle and bustle where we coordinated with our schools and their break times, with our tempo drivers who supply meals in these schools and our PR team who took media coverages in all the schools.
As the day was getting over we were getting relieved but that is where we got to know that this is how our day is going to look like for the rest of an academic year.
May it be thundering rains, blossoms of winter or the bewildering heat of summer our meals are always on time. Because we know that more than an empty tiffin an empty or partially filled tummy is waiting for us. No matter how good or bad their day is we strive to make their lunch break their best part of the day.
They say service to humanity is service to god and we are following this and are also serving the children of New India who are going to be someone contributing highly in our nation’s development.
We are not sure whether our children even know about our organization’s name but we are definitely sure about one thing that these children are grateful to us for the rest of their lives because we know how it feels to sleep with an empty stomach.
On our first anniversary, we humbly inform that from this year onwards we would be serving meals to more 25000 children from our second branch which is opened at katraj kondhwa road.
Challenges will keep coming and we together with your support shall overcome all of these obstacles and see to it that we propagate the vision and mission of Annamrita which is to feed India’s future.
